2020 Updates

Updates for the 2020 Season!

Hi, Gem State Members!

We’ve got a long list of updates for you to kick off this show year. Thank you for your patience, support, and suggestions as we’ve worked to put early season events together.

We’d like to remind our youth participants that volunteering with Gem State is a requirement for scholarship eligibility. Get in touch to see how you can help!

Heartfelt thanks to our 2020 Sponsors!

This has been a great year for sponsors so far. We’d like to thank E2CO Electrical Engineering Company for their generous support of the Non Pro classes at this year’s shows. They are sponsoring the Non Pro buckles as well as an additional $1900 in added money just for the Non Pro classes at the July show! Ryan Thomas Horsemanship and Mill Iron 7 Performance Horses are providing year-end saddles for the Non Pro and Non Pro Limited Bridle Spectacular classes. What a great deal for our Non Pro community!

We also have Boehringer Ingelheim and Kuna Lube N Go supporting us for our 2020 season. Brad and Kyra Germann with Rockin Horse Photography have again provided us with their photos to use on the website and in our advertising. Thank you!

There’s still time to add your business name to the list. You’ll be featured in rotating banner ads throughout our site, as well as in our email campaigns and social media promotions. We’re open to suggestions about how we can best serve your business to make sponsorship a valuable advertising opportunity as well as a tax-deductible charitable donation!

2020 Calendar

May Ryan Thomas Clinic

Ryan Thomas Horsemanship is generously donating his time in a second clinic series for Gem State. Ryan’s thoughtful, intelligent coaching will help you gain a more confident, relaxed, and responsive horse in the show pen and at home. He’ll cover horsemanship, showmanship, and can share tips and techniques for a successful school to prepare you for the 5/30 Paid Reining. Get your horse tuned up for a busy show season and improve your horsemanship! All proceeds to the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular Year-End Saddle.

Paid Reining

Join us at High Desert Station on 5/30 for a Paid Reining! $30 gets you 5 minutes in the show pen to tune your horse and yourself up for the coming show season. These slots are going to go fast, so keep an eye out for online-only sign ups early next week.

Skeptical of why you’d want to do this? Thinking it’s just for trainers? Follow the “Learn More” button to see why Paid Reining slots are a great opportunity for everyone.

We're hiring!

We need an announcer for all of our shows! Experience is preferred, but if you’re organized, comfortable telling people what to do, and willing to work hard to keep our rapidly growing shows moving along at a fast pace, please apply. This is a paid position with overtime. Email us at info@gemstatestockhorse.com and we’ll be in touch.

Big June Changes!

We’re excited to announce that our June show will be held at the Ford Idaho Center Indoor Arena! We’ve also made the decision to make this a full three day show. To comply with the multi-phase reopening guidelines, this means that the show will start on Saturday, June 13th and end on Monday, June 15th. Keep an eye out for schedule and full details in the next few days. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!
