2021 - May Club Show

May Club Show

The first club show of 2021 will be held May 22-23 at the Ford Idaho Horse Park Indoor Arena. Entries open on April 13th and are due by May 17.

We do have a few changes and announcements for the year!

1: Step Up Boxing is now Beginning Fence Work (Advanced Boxing)! New name, same class…except for one change. According to 2021 NRCHA rules, Beginning Fence Work must include a Reined Work score. Instead of including a reining pattern with the class, participants are required to enter at least one boxing class. This means you must enter the $1K, $5K, or Non Pro Limited to be eligible for the Beginning Fence Work.

Your reined work score from your boxing class will be added to your Beginning Fence Work score and the class will be placed with the combined scores.

If you enter multiple boxing classes, you must declare on your entry form which class you’d like to count for the reined work score. Sorry, these have to be declared when you enter!

2: Based on your feedback, we’ll be offering a Three Event Bridle Spectacular for the Open in addition to continuing our Four Event Open All Around. Please note: the three event class is provisional and is not eligible for year-end awards.

3: Also based on your feedback, we’ll be offering a Four Event All Around for our Non Pros that want to try the steer stopping! This class, like the Open Bridle Spec, is provisional and will not include year-end awards. Don’t worry, we’ll still have the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular.

4: We’ve also added a 13 & Under Youth Class to our youth lineup. We’re hoping this will fill a gap for the kids that are aging out of Little Buckaroo but don’t feel competitive yet in the Youth Limited!

5: All the classes other than the Open Bridle Spectacular and the Non Pro All-Around will include year-end awards for 1st-5th place for qualified riders. The Open All Around, Non Pro Bridle Spectacular, and Non Pro Limited Bridle Spectacular will again have saddles for the first place circuit winner in addition to the 2nd-5th place awards chosen by our Awards person! Thank you to Ryan Thomas Horsemanship for again sponsoring the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular saddle. E2CO is sponsoring the Greener Than Grass class this year for all placings–thank you for your generous support!

6: Our other sponsors, including Mill Iron 7 Performance Horses, Idaho Equine, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Storibook Farm help make our shows and events possible, including our year-end awards. Thank you for your generosity! Sponsorship opportunities are available for the 2021 show season.
